Overview

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the group financial reporting team in preparing AIHL consolidated financial statements, consolidation/elimination journals, supporting schedules, and SOMPO Head office reporting
  • Develop supplementary reconciliations for group results, plus semi-annual earnings releases and quarterly financial supplements
  • Handle internal/external slide presentations, annual report and accounts production, regulatory reports, quarterly reporting timetables, group close coordination, and audit-ready documentation maintenance
  • Assist/lead in preparing presentations and supporting materials for external releases and corporate transactions, while maintaining all files for internal and external audit review
  • Contribute to various ad-hoc projects, finance reporting integration, and system enhancements, including current/planned changes to existing systems and new core financial systems implementation
  • Collaborate with regional controllers, finance systems, and other teams to cleanse ledger data; liaise with external auditors to independently resolve issues
  • Produce reconciliations between actuarial and finance data for insurance losses
What You Bring
  • Experience in the insurance sector, or Big 4 background with demonstrated insurance experience is essential
  • Proven experience in financial reporting processes
  • Hands-on experience with reconciliations and consolidations
  • Experience with finance systems, including change management or transformation projects
  • Qualified accountant, such as ICAEW ACA or equivalent
  • Attention to detail and strong problem solving skills
