Overview
Based in our London Film, TV and Video Games team (FTV), this is a unique opportunity to join the fast-growing tax group that handles the corporate tax aspects of the firm’s (FTV) clients. The successful candidate will manage a diverse client portfolio, delivering creative sector tax claims, corporate tax compliance and advisory services. This is a challenging, client-facing role with exposure to a range of UK and international clients, including major Hollywood studios, streaming networks, independent producers, film financiers, post-production houses and video game developers.
Responsibilities- Efficient delivery of the tax compliance process, including tax credit claims and tax accounting.
- Detailed technical research and responses to ad-hoc technical queries from clients and other teams.
- Identify advisory opportunities within the allocated client portfolio.
- Supervise, mentor and review the work of junior team members.
- Advise on a range of technical areas (e.g., complex capital allowances claims, R&D tax relief, transfer pricing, Substantial Shareholdings Exemption, CFCs, Corporate Interest Restriction, Withholding Tax and Double Taxation Relief) with support from specialist colleagues where required.
- Develop specialist expertise and potentially focus on particular industry sectors or technical areas, in collaboration with the creative sector arm of the team.
- Work on one-off advisory projects across various tax specialisms with training and support provided to develop specialist knowledge and capabilities.
- Progress quickly within the team for the right individual.
- ACA/CTA qualified with experience in corporation tax.
- Strong UK tax technical skills and the ability to analyse tax technical queries and provide robust advice and solutions.
- Project management skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise work, meet deadlines and monitor budgets.
- Responsibility for the delivery and quality of work.
- Excellent communication skills and a client-focused approach with the ability to build strong client relationships.
- Ability to work collaboratively in different teams and coach/mentor other team members.
Experience of working with clients in the F&TV sector is not essential; however, an interest in the industry is preferable.
