Due to exciting growth and expanding business needs, a brilliant opportunity has arisen to join a leading International banking group in the heart of London as they seek a Head of Loan Documentation and Securities to lead their department. You will be responsible for the oversight of all loan documentation and securities, ensuring all lending adheres to compliance and regulatory requirements, and the bank’s internal credit approval conditions.

• Manage lending documentation for contracts and post-contract needs.
• Cultivate professional relationships with borrowers, agents, and third parties to address relevant inquiries.

• Establish and implement lending documentation, security management, and banking system administration procedures.

• Oversee staff handling loan documentation and banking system administration.
• Collaborate with business development and risk management to align loan documentation with credit approval conditions and client terms.
• Coordinate with external parties for finance document preparation and negotiation.
• Ensure clear communication of loan documentation processes to stakeholders.
• Provide backup support for loan documentation and security staff.
• Define departmental and individual goals, setting benchmarks for measurable processes.

• Adhere to regulations, standards, and codes while maintaining integrity.
• Implement risk control guidelines to identify, assess, report, mitigate, and monitor risks.
• Align firm strategies and policies with Consumer Duty and Treat Customers Fairly obligations.
• Participate in the Executive Committee as outlined in the Terms of Reference.

• Educated to Bachelor undergraduate degree level or higher
• Previous banking experience is essential, ideally gained within retail banking
• Previous experience managing a team, with strong people management skills
• At least 10 years experience in the legal field, or experience drafting and negotiating lending documentation
• Strong experience on LMA documentation and commercial lending, and familiarity with LMA primary and secondary documentation is essential
• Qualified lawyer highly desirable
