Temporary Finance Reporting Analyst

Ki City is an algorithmic insurance carrier, the biggest global one, working with Google and UCL to deliver quotes via algorithms, machine learning and large language models. Our mission is to digitally disrupt and revolutionise a 335‑year‑old market.

Where you come in?

We are recruiting for a Temporary Reporting Analyst to join us for a 6‑month contract. In this role you will support the underwriting accounting team in delivering the Phinsys implementation project by analysing and rebuilding the team's reporting suite. The role will apply strong technical and analytical skills together with underwriting accounting experience to ensure all reporting outputs are remapped and operational for Go Live.

The central responsibility of the role is to interpret and deconstruct the current reporting stack, identifying and understanding existing data sources, calculations and business logic, to align the reports to the new Phinsys solution, data structures, and automated data feeds. Focussing on reworking complex Excel‑based reporting models, whilst also improving their logic, transparency and control.

Operating as a key link between underwriting accounting, data, and the project team, the role will convert business and regulatory reporting requirements into robust, scalable solutions that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in the new reporting environment.

What you will be doing Technical & Analytical:
  • Analyse and interpret the current reporting stack, including investigation of current internal and external data sources.
  • Rebuild and optimise the reporting suite to align with the new Phinsys solution.
  • Rework complex Excel‑based reporting models, improving logic, transparency, and control.
  • Apply underwriting accounting expertise to ensure accurate treatment of premiums, claims, and technical accounting.
  • Validate data integrity and reconciliations within new reporting structures to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Support testing and implementation activities, including UAT, to confirm reports meet functional and regulatory requirements.
Project & Coordination:
  • Coordinate reporting requirements gathering across underwriting accounting, finance, data, and project teams.
  • Translate business and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deliverables to meet project timelines and Go Live readiness.
Stakeholder & Communication:
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with stakeholders, providing updates and managing expectations.
  • Build strong relationships across teams to ensure smooth delivery and issue resolution.
Soft Skills & Behaviours:
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to address complex reporting challenges.
  • Exhibit excellent organisational and coordination skills in a dynamic project environment.
  • Show adaptability and resilience in responding to changing requirements and timelines.
  • Maintain attention to detail and a commitment to quality in all deliverables.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in financial or underwriting accounting roles within insurance or financial services.
  • Professional accounting qualification is desirable, but not essential.
  • Exposure to system implementation projects – Phinsys experience is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with financial and regulatory reporting requirements within the insurance sector.
  • Hands‑on experience in analysing and rebuilding reporting suites or similar transformation projects.
  • Knowledge of data structures, reporting systems, and integration concepts.
  • Experience working with large datasets and complex reporting environments.
  • Understanding of data engineering principles and data lineage, including how data flows through systems and impacts reporting outputs.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including building and maintaining complex models, using Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts for data analysis, Power Query, and strong formula and logic‑building capability.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Effective stakeholder management and relationship‑building abilities.
  • Solid organisational and coordination skills to manage multiple priorities.
