Credit Controller - FTC

Owen Reed is looking for a Credit Controller for a top law firm in London.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller to join a busy finance team on a 3-month fixed‑term contract
. The Credit Controller will play a key role in managing outstanding debt, supporting cash flow, and maintaining strong professional relationships with clients.

As a Credit Controller
, you will take ownership of the credit control process, ensuring timely collection of invoices while working closely with clients and internal stakeholders.

• Managing the sales ledger and monitoring aged debt
• Chasing outstanding invoices via telephone and email
• Allocating and reconciling incoming payments accurately
• Resolving invoice queries and escalating issues where appropriate
• Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date client account records
• Preparing basic reports on outstanding debt and payment status
• Supporting month‑end finance activities as required

• Previous experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar finance role
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Confident and professional telephone manner
• High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Proactive, resilient and results‑focused approach
• Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Experience using finance or accounting systems is desirable
