· Research:o Conduct fundamental and quantitative research across commodities, building a comprehensive research pipeline.o Develop and refine innovative short-, medium-, and long-term commodity trading strategies using both quantitative and fundamental analysis.o Collaborate with portfolio managers to enhance trading strategies and deliver actionable insights.
· Thought Leadership:o Produce content on commodity fundamentals for client communications, including quarterly letters, white papers, academic papers, blog posts, and webinars.o Provide thought leadership by translating complex data into actionable intelligence.
· Business Growth:o Engage in front-facing roles within sales, marketing, and client service.o Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, delivering timely market insights.
· Portfolio Monitoring and Management:o Assist in portfolio, trading, and account management.o Actively engage with portfolio managers to ensure continuous information flow.o Monitor global financial markets, economic indicators, news, and geopolitical events to identify trading opportunities and assess risks.
Qualifications
· At least five years of experience in a cross-commodity research role, with demonstrated ability to conduct and deliver research.
· Strong academic record and a degree with high mathematical, statistical, and computing content, such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Economics from a leading university.
· Proficient in applying insights from commodity academic literature and understanding market fundamentals.
· Experience in a high-level programming language, ideally R or Python.
· Strong analytical skills with practical expertise in statistics and portfolio construction techniques.
· Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
· Ability to manage multiple research projects independently and collaboratively.
· Strong work ethic, curiosity, attention to detail, and a hands-on approach.
· Keen interest or experience in financial markets with a meticulous, analytical approach to problem-solving.
· Experience using AI tools like ChatGPT or other language models to enhance research and strategy development is advantageous.
· Experience in systematic trading is advantageous.
