At Visible, we’re building wearable technology for illness, not fitness. More than 150,000 people already use Visible to help measure and manage their chronic health condition. We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about harnessing biometric and other data from our devices to improve the lives of people with complex illnesses worldwide.

The problem is huge: hundreds of millions suffer from complex illnesses, notoriously difficult to diagnose and manage, leaving patients to navigate their health journeys alone with only rudimentary and inappropriate tools.

As an early-stage company (currently 20 people), we’re equipped to deliver on our mission. We’re backed by top investors, including Octopus Ventures and angels who've scaled products at Monzo, Cityblock Health, and more. We’ve also partnered with world-leading experts and institutions researching these conditions to advance science and build our product on the strongest foundations possible.

If this mission excites you, read on!

Why we’re hiring this role 🚀

We are delighted to be working exclusively with a privately owned health-tech brand seeking a recently qualified Finance Manager as they scale. The company is growing rapidly, having achieved $5m ARR in only 18 months with customers across the US and the UK.

The company has successfully balanced strong commercial performance with a commitment to improving customers' health and wellness. Operating on a subscription model, the business is passionate about using technology to drive meaningful health improvements, while also having fun along the way

This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in an autonomous environment while contributing to a high-caliber but lean team of 15. While mentorship and guidance will be provided by the CFO, strong technical finance skills and the ambition to take on a broad role are essential.

The Role

Reporting to an experienced and friendly CFO, the Finance Manager will have significant exposure to seasoned operators and awesome founders. The core focus will be building and enhancing finance processes and reporting to support continued growth while keeping the cost base lean and purposeful. This role covers day-to-day operations, month-end reporting, management accounting, statutory reporting, tax and compliance, with the opportunity to support wider commercial finance (FP&A and budgeting).

  • Manage the production of consolidated group management accounts
  • Own the day-to-day finance operations, working with outsourced accountants and advisors to streamline and automate processes
  • Own the month-end process including more complex work streams like inventory reporting and revenue recognition while proactively overseeing the work of 3rd party bookkeepers
  • Manage inventory and stock warehoused in the UK and US
  • Manage payroll, vendor pay runs and all banking activity in both the UK and US
  • Oversee and managed VAT submissions and US sales tax nexus reporting and remittance
  • Support the CFO with FP&A, financial analysis, financial modeling and Subscription KPIs as needed
  • Lead on year-end statutory reporting in both the US and UK and manage all corporation tax filings and any additional compliance requirements as needed
  • Own and improve the finance tech stack
Who you are 🤝
  • Happy ‘owning’ a finance department as a first full-time hire
  • Experience with Xero or similar cloud accounting software
  • Prior experience with stock and inventory management
  • Experience with in an ecommerce business (retail/food/drink/ecommerce/fashion or cosmetics)
  • Experience with Stripe and relevant reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills
Nice to have, but not a showstopper 🤞
  • Experience with SQL or similar would be beneficial
  • Experience with subscription metrics would be strongly preferred
