An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Tax Contractor to join a highly respected financial services organisation in London, offering a hybrid working model with office attendance required from Tuesday to Thursday. This role is pivotal in supporting the business's tax strategy and ensuring robust compliance across multiple European jurisdictions. Reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Taxes for Europe, you will play an integral part in both corporate and people tax matters, providing expert advice on complex issues such as transfer pricing, employee mobility, and operational expansion.

What you’ll do
  • Serve as a primary contact for all corporate and people tax matters, providing comprehensive support to the Head of Corporate Taxes for Europe on both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations.
  • Contribute expert guidance to major corporate projects such as new market entries or operational expansions, advising on issues including corporate residency, permanent establishments, and board director responsibilities.
  • Support transfer pricing activities, research and development claims, tax audits, and direct engagement with tax authorities across various European jurisdictions.
  • Oversee corporate tax compliance processes for ten European entities and branches by managing submissions, coordinating with external advisors, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all filings.
  • Advise on employee mobility and travel matters by assessing implications for corporate tax, payroll, and social security in partnership with Global Payroll and US Corporate Tax teams.
  • Collaborate closely with HR, Global Payroll, and Global Mobility teams to address employment tax returns, UK PSA calculations, contractor (IR35) assessments, and expatriate taxation issues.
  • Identify opportunities for value creation through process enhancements and the adoption of innovative technology solutions within the tax function.
  • Maintain robust control frameworks within your remit to ensure consistent practices are followed while contributing to broader governance structures and risk management strategies.
  • Monitor legislative changes across Europe by interpreting their impact on the business and leading the implementation of necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
  • Provide flexible support across a wide range of tax-related projects and initiatives as business priorities evolve throughout your contract.
What you bring
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar corporate tax role within an international or multi-jurisdictional context is essential for success in this position.
  • Proven advisory skills with the ability to provide clear guidance on complex tax matters while engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strategic thinking capabilities that enable you to anticipate risks, identify opportunities for improvement, and align tax processes with broader business objectives.
  • Accountancy qualification is required; an additional specialist tax qualification would be considered advantageous but not mandatory.
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred as it provides a solid foundation for understanding technical concepts relevant to this role.
  • Experience managing corporate tax compliance processes—including preparation of provisions—for multiple legal entities across different countries is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with transfer pricing regulations, R&D incentives, audit procedures, and direct interaction with European tax authorities will set you apart from other candidates.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that foster effective collaboration with HR, Payroll, Mobility teams as well as external advisors are crucial for delivering results in this environment.
