Senior Fire Engineer – IEng HRB or CEng (HRB), SOCOTEC

To support our ambitious growth plans, SOCOTEC's Fire Engineering and Safety teams provide award‑winning solutions across the full range of fire safety problems. We are looking for a Senior Fire Engineer to deliver high‑quality consultancy to major clients with a focus on Higher‑Risk Buildings (HRBs).

• Lead and coordinate Building Safety Case development, ensuring robust assessments and compliance with the Building Safety Act.
• Prepare Fire Appraisal Reports and Fire HAZID assessments to support Safety Case Reports.
• Review fire safety strategies and associated mark‑ups for HRB buildings.
• Provide technical advisory input and undertake site inspections during design, construction and remediation stages.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering with a postgraduate Fire Engineering qualification.
• Working towards or achieved Incorporated HRB registration with the Engineering Council and full membership with the IFE.
• At least four years’ experience in Fire Safety Engineering.
• Strong technical competence in fire dynamics, evacuation, structural fire behaviour and passive/active systems.
• In‑depth knowledge of statutory guidance (ADB, BS 9991, BS 9999, HTMs, BB100, BS 7974 series) and HRB legislation.
