Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Mechanical Engineer
We have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance team at our Hampton WTW. As the successful candidate, your role will be to ensure that all equipment at our waste treatment works is safe to use and running efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance methods to assist in keeping such a site running.

What you’ll be doing as the Mechanical Technician- Investigate plant failures and perform repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process. This may involve investigating and diagnosing complex faults and performing repairs during incidents.
- Provide technical advice, refer to up-to-date technical knowledge, and give training or support for technical trainees if required.
- Work on equipment such as motors, gearboxes, screw/chain conveyors & centrifuges, various pumps, and associated control gear, 3-phase motors, starters, automatic valves, flow, level and pressure measurement devices, programmable chemical handling and dosing equipment.
- Complete statutory checks as required.
- Always work safely and comply with all Health and Safety guidance and procedures.
- ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ, or C&G Level 3 in mechanical engineering qualification.
- Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues.
- Physical fitness to work in confined spaces with appropriate training.
- Valid driving licence.

Working Pattern & BenefitsWorking Pattern: 38 hours per week, Monday-Friday 7:30 am – 3:36 pm plus standby & overtime opportunity, increasing earnings by a potential £8,000–£10,000 upon completion of essential company training.
- Competitive salary up to £39,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
- Standby rota payments & overtime opportunities can increase earning potential by up to a further £8,000–£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.
- Performance‑related pay plan directly linked to company performance measures and targets.
- 24 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 days with length of service (plus bank holidays).
