Full Time Red Sky Personnel is representing a leading main contractor delivering a major, high-profile infrastructure project in London. Due to continued project demands, our client is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience across civils, utilities, and/or design package s to take responsibility for the commercial management of a key section of works from initiation through to close-out.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee and manage all cost management and contract management activities for their allocated package(s), ensuring robust commercial control, accurate reporting, and effective contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities Administer contractual terms and conditions for suppliers and subcontractors Manage incentivisation arrangements where applicable Oversee the assessment of EWNs and compensation events Produce regular cash flow forecasts and report expenditure against incentive targets Lead the change management process, consulting with project and design teams to assess cost and risk impacts Produce monthly consolidated cost and expenditure reports Oversee monthly valuation processes and contractor payments Review contractor, supplier, and design-related claims and support adjudication and settlement recommendations Manage final accounts and contract close-out activities Oversee the issue of consultant, supplier, and contractor instructions for approval Support audits of accounts and commercial systems Manage financial contingencies and risk allowances in line with programme position Provide commercial input into tender documentation and procurement strategies Oversee cost analysis of tender returns, including open-book and two-stage procurement Ensure all project and design instructions are reviewed for cost implications Support change control processes and assess cost impacts of proposed changes Technical Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of all aspects of commercial management In-depth experience with NEC forms of contract Experience managing civils, utilities, and/or design packages Understanding of integrated reporting and commercial control systems Knowledge of programme and change management Confident user of IT systems and commercial software Behavioural Competencies Ability to lead and support a commercial team Strong attention to detail while maintaining a strategic overview Confident communicator, able to present to senior stakeholders Qualifications, Certifications & Experience Proven experience in commercial management Experience working on major projects valued at £100m Formal qualification (RICS or similar) or equivalent proven experience If you are interested in hearing more about this opportunity, please get in touch!
