Intermediate to Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Building Services Consultancy | London (Liverpool Street / Moorgate)
Hybrid working - 3 days in the office
We're working with a well-established building services consultancy, part of Tetra Tech, who are looking to strengthen their mechanical team with an Intermediate to Senior Mechanical Design Engineer.
Based in modern offices near Liverpool Street / Moorgate, this role offers the chance to work on large-scale commercial and residential developments across London and the UK, within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
The roleYou'll be involved in the mechanical design of complex building services systems, taking projects from early concept through to delivery. Depending on your level, you'll also support junior engineers and contribute to technical decision-making.
Typical responsibilities include- Mechanical design of HVAC, domestic water, drainage and associated systems
- Producing calculations, specifications, reports and drawings
- Working closely with electrical engineers, architects and other consultants
- Attending design meetings and liaising with clients
- Supporting project delivery to time, cost and quality expectations
- Mentoring junior engineers (senior level)
- Degree‑qualified (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
- Experience working within a UK building services consultancy
- Comfortable delivering mechanical designs for commercial and/or residential projects
- Good working knowledge of UK standards and regulations
- Experience using industry software (e.g. IES, Hevacomp, AutoCAD/Revit)
- Working towards, or already holding, Chartered Engineer status (desirable)
- Salary: £45 000 - £60 000 per annum (dependent on experience)
- Hybrid working - 3 days per week in the London office
