Technical Surveyor (Interim)

Rate: £328 per hour (Umbrella)

A London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Interim Technical Surveyor to provide technical leadership across its housing Investment Programme. Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, you will lead pre-construction design and technical appraisals within a term partnering arrangement, ensuring Tasks and Task Orders deliver compliance, value for money and reduced risk for the HRA and leaseholders.

• Technically challenge Client Briefs and Service Provider proposals to ensure alignment with investment needs and Partnering Agreement requirements
• Act as technical lead for the development and appraisal of Tasks, designs and Project Execution Plans
• Review surveys, specifications, programmes, prices and consent applications (planning, building control, listed buildings)
• Support accurate budget development, cost awareness and value engineering with Cost Planners
• Manage and resolve technical RFIs and risks, escalating where required
• Develop and maintain design standards, systems and documentation to improve consistency and efficiency
• Provide clear management information and progress updates through pre-commencement to handover
• Work collaboratively with internal teams, Service Providers and stakeholders to ensure best outcomes for residents

• Strong technical surveying background within housing or property investment programmes
• Proven experience working in partnered / term contracts and pre-construction environments
• Excellent stakeholder management, risk management and value-for-money focus
• Confident technical adviser able to challenge, influence and drive quality outcomes
