Material reuse specialist; project lead

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of sustainable construction by uncovering the hidden potential of buildings. As part of the Material Audit Team, you will work across complex refurbishment and redevelopment projects in London and across the UK, helping clients unlock material reuse opportunities  will combine technical and construction knowledge with sustainability expertise, strong communication skills, and strategic thinking, contributing to project delivery, client relationships, and the continued development of Material Index's workflows and services.

• Carry out and support complex, site‑based material surveys across the UK using the Material Index platform.
• Review and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
• Conduct materials research and assess reuse potential.
• Prepare clear, high‑quality audit reports for planning, BREEAM and design teams.
• Present findings, reuse strategies and insights to clients and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Support the audit team in delivering projects efficiently and to a high technical level.
• Contribute insights and feedback towards the development of internal workflows and digital products.
• Represent Material Index in client meetings, workshops, and business development contexts.

• Background in architecture (Part 2 or Part
  3), construction, engineering, project management, or consultancy.
• Strong understanding of UK construction methodology, building typologies, and project delivery.
• Knowledge of circular economy principles and sustainability frameworks.
• A diverse software skill set, including Revit, BIM, and related tools.
• Strong verbal communication, data interpretation, and visual or graphic presentation skills.
