Position: Data Centre Engineering Manager – Nordics

Salary: Up to £120,000 plus bonus + benefits

Location: London, with frequent travel to the Nordic region

This is an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join a growing data centre developer, building data centres powered by sustainable energy, and innovating the way digital infrastructure supports high performance computing. As the Engineering Manager,compute you will lead the design and engineering of multiple concurrent data centre projects, implement Design & Engineering standards, and manage deliverables against project expectations.

This is a senior role within the Engineering team, reporting to the Head of Design & Product Development.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a physical science.
• 5+ years of experience in a hands‑on design role, producing calculations, authoring specifications and drawing sets as a consultant or in‑house engineer.
• 3+ years of experience in a project delivery capacity, accountable for managing a schedule of deliverables for technically complex projects.
• Demonstrated ability to bring a team together to deliver.
• Subject‑matter expertise in at least one Data Centre technical discipline (e.g., electrical distribution, critical cooling, mission‑critical controls).
• Comfort and familiarity with directing all technical disciplines and holding individual engineers to account, including general building services engineering.
• Comfort in managing a budget, financial acumen to liaise with finance, and drive cost‑effectiveness from the professional‑services supply chain.

• Apply the Project Engineering Strategy at all phases of the project lifecycle.
• Manage test‑fit exercises, applying reference design and site‑specific constraints to maximize yield; contribute to permitting matrices, path‑to‑power, connectivity and other key technical deliverables.
• Lead technical land‑due diligence and permit‑design deliverables, driving the team toward a fully compliant design.
• Incorporate market and buildability constraints with an emphasis on value engineering and predictable delivery.
• Inspect installations against the Plan of Record in/ml partnership with the development team, acting as a technical point of contact.
• Review commissioning scripts to ensure they describe commissioning activities that demonstrate system design objectives.
• Verify as‑built documentation adequately describes the facility so that Operations can guarantee uptime.
• Direct and oversee professional consultants (architects, engineers), equipment‑supplier technical teams and specialist contractor technical teams.
• Appoint specialist consultants or suppliers as necessary to achieve specified deliverables.
• Develop and maintain vendor relationships to keep services cost‑effective for projects.
• Ensure project engineering reports and progress align with engineering overarching requirements.
• Present design, design deviations, value engineering report and quality assurance report at the conclusion of each stage gate.
