We are currently recruiting for a Technical Support Engineer to join our Siemens Mobility Rolling Stock business at the Temple Mills Depot in London, supporting the Eurostar project. You will work with the technical and performance team to offer technical support to the customer’s maintenance teams, carry out technical investigations, and identify performance improvements.
Responsibilities- Provide technical support for the Siemens TSSSA team and the customer’s maintenance team on‑site and at incidents off‑depot.
- Investigate rolling stock casualties and undertake maintenance and repair of the allocated rolling stock to meet the production plan with minimal supervision.
- Support the completion of campaigns to improve safety and performance of the fleet.
- Monitor train defects and failures in traffic and liaise with the customer.
- Mitigate the risk of in‑service failures through proactive intervention.
- Download and process train diagnostic data, and undertake‑finding to an advanced level.
- Produce complex, analytical technical reports on fault investigation.
- Act as Siemens representative on shift, providing technical support to the Operator’s maintenance staff.
- Assist other team members, both Siemens and customer, with development of technical skills as a mentor.
- Specialise in areas of technical expertise.
- Relevant engineering qualification or experience in a mechanical/electrical engineering environment.
- In‑depth knowledge of rolling‑stock systems and procedures, including schematics, fault‑finding techniques and download analysis (preferred).
- Experience of rolling‑stock maintenance and campaign planning activities (preferred).
- Ability to complete all records of actions and operations accurately and to procedure.
- Ability to fault‑find using a number of different methods including diagnostic software.
- Ability to understand and interpret relevant technical publications.
- Ability to produce and analyse detailed analytical technical reports.
- Good communication skills.
