Lecturer in Biochemistry

Overview

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Lecturers in Science, who can teach any or all disciplines (Biology and Chemistry), in order to contribute to the teaching and development of these subjects within our School of Science. You must be able to teach on AS/A2, BTEC and Higher Education courses. Experience of Access Courses would be an advantage. It is essential that you are experienced in tutoring, assessing, recording and tracking students on different courses.

You will have sound organisational skills, your ability to work cooperatively and contribute positively and creatively to a team is also essential.

UCG currently enrol 250+ HE students per year, across 4 campuses onto 12 courses from STEM subjects (Science, Construction, Engineering, and Computing) to Business, Music and Professional Qualifications.

We have around 1,000 dedicated, skilled and enthusiastic staff who always put the needs of our students first and we are now looking for a Hourly Paid Lecturer in Bio Chemistry to join our cohort of dedicated staff.

• Teach on AS/A2, BTEC and Higher Education courses (Biology and Chemistry) and contribute to the teaching and development of these subjects within the School of Science.
• Tutor, assess, record and track students on different courses.
• Work as part of a team to deliver high-quality education and maintain a positive learning environment.

• A degree (or equivalent) in a related area.
• Familiarity with the current BTEC and A level curriculum.
• Experience with Access Courses would be an advantage.
• Need to possess or be willing to work towards a Level 4 teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed) and to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification upon appointment.
• Excellent communication, administration and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to working effectively as part of a team.
