Overview

Westminster Academy has a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and dedicated Attendance Officer to play a key role in supporting and improving student attendance across the school. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ education by helping them overcome barriers to learning and promoting a culture of punctuality, consistency, and engagement.

What we are looking for

Our ideal Attendance Officer will be a highly organised, detail-oriented professional with excellent communication skills. You will monitor and analyse attendance data, co-ordinate interventions, and work closely with pupils, families, school leaders and external agencies to remove barriers to regular attendance. If you’re passionate about leading on the strategic and operational management of attendance and punctuality, ensuring that all students are safe, present and fully able to access their education, we would love to hear from you.

  • Previous experience of working in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, multi-task and work effectively under pressure.
  • Experience analysing data, producing reports and identifying key trends.
  • A strong understanding of statutory guidance relating to attendance, safeguarding, and child and family wellbeing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils, parents/carers and colleagues.
