About The Role

We’re Motability Operations, the organisation that delivers the Motability Scheme to over 860,000 customers across the UK.

We exist to deliver smart, sustainable solutions that improve our customers’ mobility in a fast changing world. As part of that commitment, we offer two scholarship opportunities for undergraduate students.

These scholarships provide financial support towards tuition fees, paid summer work experience and ongoing mentoring.

What the scholarship includes

Both scholarships offer the same level of support.

You will receive:

  • A bursary of up to £9,535 per academic year, paid towards your university tuition fees, for a maximum of four academic years. This bursary supports tuition costs only and is not an additional maintenance payment.

  • A six week paid summer placement each year during your studies at our London, Bristol or Edinburgh offices.

  • Ongoing mentoring and guidance from a Motability Operations colleague.

  • Access to experience across departments such as Technology, Finance, Customer Services, Commercial Operations, Marketing and Human Resources.

Our aim is to help reduce financial barriers to higher education while giving you meaningful professional experience.

Six week paid summer placements

Each year, you will complete a six week paid placement with us.

During this time, you will:

  • Work on real business projects.

  • Build professional skills and workplace confidence.

  • Learn how different parts of our organisation operate.

  • Gain practical experience that complements your degree.

Placements are structured and supportive, designed to help you develop and grow.

About You

Our scholarships are designed to support talented students from underrepresented backgrounds. We offer two separate scholarship opportunities, and you can apply for the one that best reflects your lived experience.

Disability Scholarship

Open to students who identify as having a disability, a long term health condition, or who identify as neurodivergent.

Ethnicity Scholarship

Open to students who identify as being from an Asian, Black, Mixed or other Ethnic background.

You can be studying any undergraduate degree subject.

We are looking for students who are motivated to learn, open to new experiences and interested in developing professionally. You do not need previous corporate experience.

The scholarship can support you for up to four academic years. Whether you are about to start university or already studying, we can support you for the remaining duration of your undergraduate degree, up to four years in total.

Recruitment Stages
  • 1) Application Stage (From 23rd February): As part of your application you submit your CV and answer four questions, which will be reviewed. If you apply through the Disability Confident scheme and meet the minimum criteria, we will progress your application to the video assessment stage.
  • 2) Video Assessment (From 13th March): If you progress to our video assessment, you will answer questions via video response. You will have thinking time and response time for each question. Additional resources will be provided to support you with this stage. You are given 6 days to complete your video assessment from when you receive your invitation.
  • 3) Virtual Interview (between 31st March - 2nd April): You will interview with us for approx. 20-30 minutes. This is an opportunity to get to know you even more, and a chance for you to ask us questions.
