We have an exciting opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and inclusive school in Croydon, Bromley, Bexley, London
. This role offers the chance to work alongside experienced educators, gain valuable classroom experience, and support students in reaching their full potential.
- Individualised Support: Work closely with students who have Special Educational Needs, providing tailored support and adapting teaching materials to meet their unique requirements.
- Classroom Assistance: Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons, ensuring that all students are included and supported in their learning activities.
- Behaviour Management: Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting respectful behaviour and implementing strategies to support student engagement.
- Monitoring Progress: Observe and report on student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the development of Individual Education Plans.
- Personal Care: Support students with personal care needs when required, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the school day.
- Collaboration with Staff: Work closely with teaching staff, SEN coordinators, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
- Extracurricular Involvement: Contribute to the wider school community by assisting in extracurricular activities, helping to foster student engagement and personal development.
- Professional Development: Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with additional needs.
- Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs, either in a school setting or with relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach, demonstrating your commitment to supporting students with diverse needs.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work across various subjects and with different teaching styles.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative and supportive school environment.
- Enhanced DBS registered to the update service.
