Job Title: Wall & Floor Tiling Tutor
Location: HMP Wormwood Scrubs
Salary: From £33,000 + £5,000 London Weighting
Contract: Permanent
Prison-based role requiring full site presence and face-to-face learner engagement.
Role Overview:
We are recruiting a skilled Wall & Floor Tiling Tutor to deliver high quality vocational training within a prison setting. You will work with small groups of learners to develop practical tiling skills, knowledge, and workplace behaviours that support their long term goals and reduce re offending. This role involves creating tailored training plans, delivering engaging lessons, and supporting learners to progress into further training or employment.
You will need strong vocational experience, excellent communication skills, and a passion for teaching.
Learner Support & Vocational Delivery
- Deliver Wall & Floor Tiling training up to Level 2.
- Identify individual learner needs and develop personalised learning plans.
- Prepare, deliver, and review comprehensive lesson plans covering technical tiling skills, health & safety, and employability.
- Engage, motivate, and inspire learners to increase retention and achievement.
- Provide constructive feedback and adapt teaching methods to learner needs.
Programme Administration & Compliance
- Complete all required learner documentation, including ILPs, registers, reviews, and awarding body evidence.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, health & safety, and data protection requirements.
- Meet all contractual performance targets and KPIs.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support learner progression.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement across the provision.
- Level 2 qualification in Wall & Floor Tiling.
- Substantial vocational experience within the tiling or wider construction sector.
- Experience delivering vocational training or workplace instruction.
- Ability to use a range of teaching methods to engage learners.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Understanding of safeguarding, equality, health and safety, and data protection standards.
- Teaching or assessing qualification (or willingness to work towards).
- Experience delivering training in secure environments.
- Experience developing curriculum content or working with awarding bodies.
- Knowledge of OFSTED Education Inspection Framework (EIF).
