Overview

Job Title:

Exam Invigilator.

Location:

Barnet. Contract Type:
Casual / Part-time / Temporary. Salary: 16.50 - 17 per hour. Reporting to:
Examinations Officer / Manager.

Job Purpose:

To ensure the fair and proper conduct of examinations in accordance with awarding body regulations, maintaining a calm, secure, and controlled exam environment for all candidates.

• Prepare examination rooms before candidates arrive, including setting out desks, papers, and equipment in line with regulations
• Admit candidates to the examination room and verify their identity
• Ensure candidates are seated correctly and understand exam instructions
• Distribute and collect examination papers and materials
• Supervise candidates throughout the examination to prevent malpractice
• Respond appropriately to candidate queries in accordance with exam regulations
• Record attendance and report any incidents, irregularities, or breaches of exam rules
• Escort candidates if they need to leave the room during the examination
• Ensure exam conditions are maintained until all materials are securely returned

Essential:

• High level of attention to detail and vigilance
• Hold a valod DBS on the update service
• Ability to follow strict procedures and regulations
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Calm, professional manner and ability to manage groups
• Punctual, reliable, and flexible
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

• Previous experience as an exam invigilator or in a supervisory role
• Familiarity with awarding body regulations (e.g. JCQ)
• Experience working in an educational environment

• Hours may vary depending on exam schedules, including early mornings
