The Design & Technology department is well resourced, with modern workshops and specialist equipment to support a range of disciplines, including Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Engineering and Food Technology. The department benefits from strong leadership and a collaborative ethos, with staff working closely together to share best practice and continuously improve outcomes for students.
The Role Deliver high-quality Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 where appropriatePlan and implement engaging, creative and challenging schemes of work that inspire students of all abilitiesUse a range of teaching strategies to promote independent learning, practical skills and technical understandingAssess, monitor and track student progress, providing effective feedback to support improvementContribute to the ongoing development of the Design & Technology curriculumTake an active role in extra-curricular activities, enrichment opportunities and school eventsWork collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learningThe Ideal Candidate
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is currently training to achieve itHas strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for Design & TechnologyCan teach one or more specialisms, including Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Engineering or Food TechnologyIs committed to inclusive education and raising achievement for all studentsDemonstrates excellent classroom management and positive behaviour strategiesIs reflective, resilient and eager to engage in professional developmentWorks effectively as part of a team and contributes positively to the wider school communityEarly Career Teachers (ECTs) are very welcome to apply and will benefit from a comprehensive induction programme and high-quality mentoring.What We Offer
