Thank you for your interest in this exciting opportunity to lead Physical Education in a forward‑thinking secondary school.
The school has made significant progress in recent years, with strong improvements in outcomes at Key Stage 4 and attendance levels that compare favourably on a national scale. We are now seeking an ambitious and skilled subject leader to build on this momentum and further strengthen provision for our students.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and driven practitioner who is committed to making a meaningful difference to young people's lives. The successful candidate will bring energy, vision and high expectations, alongside a genuine enthusiasm for Physical Education and school sport.
Physical Education is a well‑established and popular subject within the school. There is a strong culture of participation, with multiple teams competing across a range of sports and age groups, and healthy uptake at Key Stage 4. The department benefits from a collaborative ethos and a shared commitment to continual improvement.
We are looking for a reflective and aspirational leader who is keen to develop both their own practice and that of others. You will believe in the potential of every student, value the role of an ambitious curriculum, and be committed to delivering high‑quality teaching that enables all learners to succeed.
This role would suit someone who is excited by the opportunity to consolidate strong practice, inspire colleagues, and further enhance outcomes and experiences in Physical Education.
Safeguarding and RecruitmentThe school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to undertake enhanced DBS checks and share this commitment.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that the successful applicant must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.

We look forward to receiving your application. The job vacancy may be closed earlier than the closing date if we secure a suitable candidate, so please apply ASAP to avoid any potential disappointment.
