Candidate Requirements

* Essential

Experience:

You must have a proven track record of supporting children with SEND (this can be in a school, specialist provision, or care setting).

* Autism Specialist:
While we welcome experience in any area of SEND, candidates with specific experience supporting Autism (ASD) and an understanding of sensory triggers are highly preferred.

Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or Colourful Semantics is a major advantage.

* Soft Skills:

You must be patient, proactive, and able to remain calm under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

* Implementing tailored learning plans (EHCP goals)

* Using visual timetables and sensory breaks to support focus and regulation.

* Providing regular feedback to the Class Teacher and SENDCo on the pupil's progress.

* Fostering an inclusive environment where the pupil feels safe and supported.

Benefits of working with Vocational Recruitment

* Weekly PAYE Pay:
No hidden umbrella fees; what you earn is what you keep.

* Prime

Location:

A school conveniently located near a major transport hub (King’s Cross).

* Career Growth:
Access to free SEND-specific training, including Autism Awareness and Positive Behaviour Support.

* Transition to Permanent:
Opportunity for long-term stability with the school for the right candidate.
