Level Teaching Assistant SEN

Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant with SEN experience
Location: Wandsworth

We are looking for a dedicated, motivated, and experienced HLTA to join our SEN school. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a school that provides a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for children and young people with sensory impairments and other special educational needs. You will play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning, emotional wellbeing, and personal development, helping them achieve their full potential.

You will also support Class Teachers in delivering lessons, guide Teaching Assistants, and contribute to creating a calm and structured classroom environment where every pupil can succeed.

Role includes:

Supporting Class Teachers with teaching and learning

Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons under teacher supervision

Leading interventions to support pupils’ learning, behaviour, and wellbeing

Supporting and guiding Teaching Assistants in the classroom

You must have:

Experience working in a special school or with SEN pupils

Knowledge of positive behaviour management strategies

Ability to plan and deliver lessons

A calm, professional, and supportive approach

HLTA qualification is an advantage
