Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant for our client a Primary School based in Haringey. The successful candidate will provide help to get students involved in the school's social and academic activities, and help them become more independent learners, aiming to boost their achievements. They will need to be adaptable and flexible – there will be opportunities to work within the whole class, teaching small groups and on a 1:1 basis with individual pupils.
This role is an ongoing temporary contract and for the right candidate potentially for the entire school year, with opportunities to become a permanent contract.
- Provide in-class support across all subjects.
- Deal with behavioural and special needs issues in conjunction with the teacher.
- Provide literacy, numeracy and social skills interventions.
- Collaborate with subject teachers to scaffold instructions and resources.
- Support students to prepare for assessments and carry out the role of a reader or scribe if necessary.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all, in all aspects of school life
- Previous experience in the same position or a very similar role.
- Valid Enhanced DBS with child barring checks (Essential).
- Genuine interest in children special needs development and education.
- Relevant qualifications/educational background (Desirable).
Working Hours:
33.75hrs / 8:30 am - 16:00 pm / Monday to Friday
Pay: £18.00 p/h (Umbrella)
Please note this role is within the scope of IR35.
