Pastoral Mentor

Overview

Pastoral Mentor needed in a Mixed Secondary School & Sixth Form in South West London. This will be a full‑time long term position, with scope to go permanent. Working hours will be 8am to 4pm.

• Supporting SEN and LAP students in group or whole class intervention sessions
• Working with the teachers to ensure each student s learning needs are identified
• Attending to students  social, emotional and personal needs when required
• Supporting behaviour management and using appropriate strategies in line with academy policy
• Undertaking learning activities/teaching programmes when needed

The rates of pay for this Pastoral Mentor position will be between 82.14 to 100 a day, depending on the qualifications and experiences of each applicant.

An "Outstanding" Secondary School & Sixth Form in the London Borough of Merton. It is a mixed, 11 - 18, non-selective school with a wide demographic of pupils and staff. 90% of students stay in education or employment after Key Stage 4. The site has its own dedicated SEN Support Centre and a variety of sports facilities. Ofsted have noted there is positive culture of learning and a strong sense of community.

• Right to work in the UK
• Clear and up to date Enhanced DBS
• UK Bachelor s Degree or overseas equivalent
• Experience of working with children/young people from the ages of 11 to 18 or as a Pastoral Mentor in UK schools
