A GCSE Chinese (2017 specification) Examiner will mark candidates’ responses in accordance with the pre-defined mark scheme, whilst adhering to recognition and examination procedures. Marking is mainly conducted onscreen using ePEN and can be completed from home. A high level of subject knowledge is necessary to apply the mark scheme. Each examiner will receive an agreed allocation of scripts.

• Mark accurately and consistently to ensure overall standards are maintained.
• Submit samples to the Team Leader at designated times.
• Adhere to milestones for marking.
• Complete all specified administration.

• Degree or equivalent.
• Qualified teacher – UK and overseas qualifications accepted.
• Relevant teaching and/or assessment experience within the last 10 years.

• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• High level of subject knowledge to apply the mark scheme.

• Marking period is between May and July.
• Training required to mark as an examiner takes place between May and June.
