Are you an enthusiastic, dedicated, and highly experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a meaningful role where you can genuinely make a difference?
A warm, welcoming, and inclusive primary school in the heart of Islington is seeking a talented KS2 SEND Teaching Assistant to join their committed team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and eager to help create an environment where every child can flourish.
You will be joining a school that truly values its staff, celebrates diversity, and prioritises pupil wellbeing above all else. The senior leadership team is incredibly supportive, and you will receive guidance, collaboration, and the opportunity to grow your skills further within an encouraging and nurturing setting.
What You'll Be Doing
Providing high-quality 1:1 and small-group support for KS2 pupils with a wide range of SEND needs, including autism, ADHD, social communication difficulties, and speech and language delays.
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored interventions, follow IEPs/EHCPs, and implement strategies that enable pupils to make consistent progress.
Adapting activities and learning materials to ensure lessons are inclusive, engaging, and accessible for all learners.
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, communication skills, sensory needs, confidence-building, and positive behaviour.
Helping to create a classroom environment where every child feels safe, valued, and motivated to learn.
Contributing to assessments and progress tracking by sharing observations and feedback with teaching staff and, when appropriate, parents and external professionals.
Acting as a positive role model, encouraging independence, resilience, and a love of learning.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience supporting SEND pupils, ideally within a KS2 or primary setting.
Strong understanding of autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, or other barriers to learning.
Someone calm, patient, empathetic, and adaptable, with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
A dedicated team player who enjoys working collaboratively but can also take initiative when supporting pupils.
A TA who is proactive, reliable, and committed to providing outstanding support every day.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant who wants to be part of a school where your contribution is recognised and your role is genuinely impactful.
If you are ready to take the next step in your career and support KS2 pupils to reach their fullest potential, we would love to hear from you.
If you're ready to make a meaningful impact and support children on their learning journey, we would love to hear from you.
