Position: Consultant Cardiologist with interest in Structural Intervention
Location: City of Westminster

Applications are invited for the appointment of Consultant Cardiologist with an interest in structural and coronary intervention at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This is a permanent position, to support the well-established structural and interventional services at King's.

All employees are expected to undertake work on any of the Trust's sites as required by the service. As a senior employee of the Trust, you will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust's patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provision of a first-class clinical service
  • Effective leadership to all staff engaged in the specialty
  • Sustaining and developing teaching and research in conjunction with King's College London / KHP
  • Undertaking all work in accordance with the Trust's procedures and operating policies
  • Conducting clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Trust's service plans
  • Maintaining the confidence of business plans and development strategies formulated for the specialty, the Care Group or the Trust
  • The successful applicant will join a team of 16 cardiologists and 6 cardiothoracic surgeons who deliver a broad range of specialist services.

    Applicants should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT in Cardiology or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR) or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of interview. They will be expected to be fully trained in trans-catheter aortic valve implantation, as well as coronary intervention. They will participate in the (1 in
    8) on call rota so experience in primary PCI is essential.
