Why should you apply here? Royal London is one of the busiest paediatric units in the UK. We have GRID trainees for Paediatric A&E / Paediatric gastroenterology / Paediatric Respiratory medicine / Paediatric Allergy medicine / Paediatric endocrinology with SPIN trainees in Paediatric Neurology. There is a strong focus on paediatric research and academic activity, with teams actively participating in clinical trials.
Fellows will be encouraged to participate in ongoing trials as part of the post. We have a robust teaching programme and will encourage all paediatric fellows to actively participate in teaching sessions and to deliver teaching. All undergraduates from QMUL (Queen Mary University London) are attached to Royal London Hospital, providing ample opportunities to mentor and teach. Fellows will be assigned a QI project/Audit and will participate in Clinical Governance and management meetings.

Work pattern involves daytime collaboration with paediatric subspecialities. On-calls cover general and speciality paediatrics, including long days and night shifts. All shifts are EWTD and New Deal contract compliant.
Junior Clinical Fellow (ST1-3 equivalent)- Paediatric Gastroenterology with General Paediatrics x 1 post
- Paediatric Respiratory medicine with General Paediatrics x 1 post
- Community Paediatrics at Mile End Hospital with oncalls at Royal London Hospital x 1 post
- Paediatric Neurology x 1 post
The Junior Fellow posts have come up to cover training post vacancies as a result of Progress Plus with the loss of ST3 posts along with trainees going on OOP/LTFT. All posts will include oncalls.
The posts will be for a period of 6 months with potential extension depending upon clinical performance.
