Overview

We are seeking a qualified Specialty Doctor with S12 approval to join Lavender Ward, a mixed 18‑bed adult psychiatric ward at Springfield University Hospital in London. Lavender Ward is part of the Trust’s Acute and Urgent Care Service Line, which includes eight acute adult wards across two sites. The role will be awarded for an initial 12 months with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver acute psychiatric care to adult mixed gender patients, including assessment, medication management, and discharge planning.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across acute adult wards, inpatient mental health, and community services.
  • Participate in Trust‑wide quality improvement programmes and clinical audit activities.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical pathways and service standards.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Completed two years of Foundation studies (FY1 and FY2) and two years at core trainee level (CT1 and CT2) or equivalent.
  • Specialty Doctor grade appointment based on experience and qualifications.
  • S12 approval or qualification to obtain S12.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
Recruitment Details

The post will initially be for 12 months. The possibility of extension will be discussed by mutual agreement and subject to availability of funding.
