About the Role
Successful applicants will work at Springfield Hospital as part of a multidisciplinary team in modern in‑patient psychiatric wards. The role is for doctors at various stages of training, including Post Foundation Year 2, FY3, core trainees, clinical fellows, SAS doctors, Trust Fellows and those seeking entry to training grades. The post lasts six months with potential for a further six‑month extension subject to funding and mutual agreement.
Responsibilities- Provide medical care as a ward doctor in modern inpatient psychiatric facilities.
- Participate in the daily duty doctor cover and attend the weekly academic programme.
- Support on‑call rota to cover gaps if desired and subject to availability.
- Work under supervision of the ward consultant and follow standard clinical protocols.
- Foundation Year 2, FY3 or equivalent training experience.
- Core trainee or clinical fellow status preferred.
- MTDS accredited or equivalent and willing to attain MRCPsych qualifications.
- Experience or interest in forensic psychiatry and modern inpatient care.
Training, educational opportunities and appraisal will be available to successful candidates, including attendance at the weekly academic programme and supervision by the ward consultant.
