Overview
The Design Manager will also work closely with the D&P team to propose improvements in terms of space planning and design, in line with industry trends and EY requirements. The Design Manager will support the Real Estate Services team in a number of activities including but not limited to the following:
Responsibilities- Design Guidelines principles understanding and ownership, propose enhancements to improve our global program including branding, wellbeing, sustainability and inclusive design standards.
- Continuous benchmarking (external and internal) and interactions with external service providers to support our design standards and project delivery.
- Onboard design teams, stakeholders and suppliers on design standards.
- Interact with various ranks of the organization and stakeholders to share design standards and support project design narrative.
- Maintain regular engagement with Real Estate Leaders, Design and Projects Leaders to align on strategic support for active and upcoming projects.
- Review design materials and provide design SME support on projects from project initiate phase to close out.
- Provide input for any design related frameworks that EY will enter, interact with key suppliers and ensure procurement strategy alignment with design standards.
- Develop templates and toolkits for design standards definition to be included in our Design Guidelines portal and Playbook.
- Sit on close out meetings and provide lessons learned on design standards implementation.
- You will need to have a passion for design and workplace, as well as the ability to transmit it to our team and stakeholders.
- Excellent track record in a design related role, either interior design or workspace planning, focused on corporate occupiers and office trends. (+7 years).
- A deep understanding of workspace planning principles as well as interior design elements that create impact in the office space, and software tools for workspace modeling.
- Ability to operate calmly under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Strong influencing skills and an ability to engage within all levels of the firm as well as external stakeholders.
- Strong English communication skills (oral/ written) Minimum C1 - level English required. Other languages will be an asset.
- Willingness to take on new challenges and work in an international team.
- An excellent understanding of workplace metrics, planning principles and trends.
- Enthusiastic, committed and determined.
- Ability to operate calmly under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Strong experience in working in diverse environments, respecting, and understanding various cultures and working styles with experience working across borders essential.
- Strong experience in supply chain management and especially working with product vendors and professional services firms.
- Strong experience working across locations, time zones and on multiple projects at once.
- Work from any location in EMEA
