Façade Design Manager (Architectural Stone)
Company Overview
Our client is a London-based specialist in high-end architectural stone and façade solutions, working on prestigious residential, commercial and mixed-use developments across the UK and internationally. With a reputation for combining craftsmanship with technical excellence, they deliver bespoke stone façades from concept and design through to manufacture and installation, collaborating closely with architects, designers and developers on complex, design-led projects.
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Façade Design Manager with a strong background in architectural stone and façade systems to lead and manage the technical design process across multiple projects. This role is critical in ensuring façade designs are technically robust, compliant and coordinated, while maintaining the architectural intent from early design stages through to construction and handover.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the façade design process, with a particular focus on architectural stone cladding systems
* Coordinate façade design packages with architects, consultants, structural engineers, contractors and internal teams
* Review, manage and approve technical drawings, details and specifications
* Ensure compliance with building regulations, project specifications and performance requirements
* Identify and resolve design risks and clashes early, supporting value engineering where appropriate
* Attend design meetings, technical workshops and site visits as required
* Provide technical guidance to project and construction teams throughout delivery
* Manage design programmes and deliverables to meet project timelines
Experience & Requirements
* Proven experience in a Design Manager, Senior Design Coordinator or similar role within façade or architectural stone projects
* Strong technical knowledge of stone cladding systems, fixing methods, support structures and façade interfaces
* Experience working on high-quality or complex building envelopes
* Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings and translate them into buildable façade solutions
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or a related discipline (preferred but not essential)
Salary & Benefits
* Competitive salary up to £65,000, depending on experience
* Permanent, full-time position
