Overview
As Centre Manager of the Tresham Centre for Children and Young People with Disabilities, you will lead the development and delivery of activities for children and families, including holiday and weekend play schemes, family fun days and trips, parenting groups and workshops, and early intervention offers. You will manage and supervise staff, ensure high‑quality care, and work with partner services to enhance the centre’s support for children and families in Westminster.
Responsibilities- Lead and supervise centre staff, including team leaders, to deliver high‑quality care and services for children and families.
- Plan, organise and oversee a wide range of activities (e.g., holiday/weekend play schemes, family events, trips) and lead on parenting groups and workshops.
- Develop and enhance early intervention offers and ensure smooth transitions for children into Adult Services where appropriate.
- Maintain quality assurance across contract services, adhering to Health & Safety, Ofsted regulations and CQC requirements.
- Manage day‑to‑day budgeting, petty cash and banking, and work with the Management Group to provide a coordinated service.
- Provide motivating guidance, mentoring and training to centre staff and volunteers, and respond to arising needs with a collaborative approach.
- Engage with parents, carers and children with additional needs and disabilities in planning activities and developing services.
- Design, set up and deliver a range of parenting workshops, groups and activities to support families.
- Work with a broad network of professionals, agencies and partner organisations to deliver a high‑quality service.
- Well‑developed experience supervising, monitoring and setting targets for contract, sessional or frontline staff; capable trainer, coach and mentor.
- Ability to manage budgets, resources and operational planning to deliver a high‑quality service.
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing demands in a dynamic environment; strong interpersonal and communication skills with empathy and professionalism.
- A Level 3 qualification or equivalent practical experience in childcare, youth work or social care; a management qualification and additional training relating to children with disabilities or special educational needs is desirable.
- Experience involving parents, carers and children with additional needs in planning activities and developing services.
