An international law firm is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to join its London office on a 12-month Fixed‑Term Contract.
This senior role will support several high‑profile transactional and advisory practice groups, all of which work on complex, cross‑border matters.
The RoleWorking closely with partners, lawyers and global business services colleagues, you will lead a broad mix of strategic and operational BD responsibilities. This is a highly visible role where you will contribute to planning, market positioning and activities that support the growth of the firm’s client base.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the development of marketing and client materials for a variety of BD opportunities.
- Support partners with the preparation and coordination of new business initiatives.
- Contribute to the creation and execution of business plans for practice groups.
- Manage a range of profile‑raising activities, including events, campaigns and thought leadership.
- Maintain core BD processes and internal resources to ensure teams have access to up‑to‑date information.
- Work with colleagues to support internal reporting, analysis and project coordination.
- Help identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and enhance market visibility.
- Significant business development or marketing experience within professional services (legal sector a plus but not essential).
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of complex transactional or advisory work.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Confident communicator able to work closely with senior stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive, proactive and collaborative working style.
- Experience managing or mentoring team members is desirable.
- Strong working knowledge of core business software tools.
