A leading UK lottery provider who donate to charities offering life changing services throughout the UK are embarking on a journey which could elevate their status to becoming THE household brand in the industry with a potential revenue increase from £100’s millions per year to £billions per year.
RoleAs part of this greenfield venture, The Head of Procurement will work collaboratively with some of the most recognised people in their fields at an exec level and with external industry bodies and regulators. The collective goal put simply is to scope out a proposal for the pivot which could include identifying suppliers of technology for lottery platforms, networking and retail solutions, digital and mobile solutions, as well as potential partnerships with numerous 3rd parties and the creation of a syndicate of businesses to build, launch and operate a number of disruptive new products and services.
Longer term this could include merger and acquisition services are acquired and transitioned to the new business.
As Head of Procurement, this role will involve providing thought leadership on overall Procurement and Commercial Strategy specifically in relation to potential new suppliers and partners – with a strong emphasis on negotiation and cost reduction.
This will include creating tenders, assessing viability of suppliers and partners and leading all engagements with third parties in relation to negotiations and supplier/partner onboarding.
As a proven team builder, the Head of Procurement will also be adept recruiting and building Procurement teams ensuring effective delivery of departmental initiatives including onboarding, team development, training, etc.
Background and ExperienceYou will have significant experience of operating at a Senior / Exec / Head Of Procurement role within the lottery, gaming, betting, retail, technology, digital industries.
You will be very versed in Procurement Strategy and working closely with other execs across marketing, sales, finance, legal, etc to ensure strategies align to those of the business.
It is also key that you will have a proven experience contributing to a business going through a Merger or Acquisition or Pivot of a product or service into a new industry or market especially in relation to Procurement on an enterprise level.
Perhaps one of the key requirements is to have a record of negotiation £multi-million contracts and cost savings.
Duration and Next StepsThe initial proposal will take approx 6 months to create the go to market plan, and execution could see this contract extend to 18 months or more.
