Overview
We are working with a leading international law firm seeking an experienced Client Development Manager to join its London-based Business Development and Marketing team. This is a key strategic role supporting partners across the firm’s Corporate & Securities practice, including Private Equity, Strategic Transactions, and Tax. You’ll play an integral part in driving growth, strengthening client relationships, and delivering cross-border BD and marketing initiatives.
The RoleAs Client Development Manager, you’ll:
- Partner with practice and sector leaders to develop and implement BD strategies aligned with global priorities.
- Manage and deliver pitches, proposals, and RFPs, ensuring consistent, high-quality outputs and measurable impact.
- Lead on thought leadership campaigns, client communications, and profile-raising initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.
- Coordinate cross-practice business development efforts, collaborating closely with international colleagues.
- Track ROI, monitor pipeline progress, and provide insights to enhance decision-making and drive results.
- Support partner relationship management and client targeting programmes.
You will bring:
- 6+ years’ experience in business development or marketing within a law firm or professional services partnership.
- Strong understanding of corporate or transactional practices (private equity, M&A, or financial services exposure advantageous).
- Proven track record in pitches, pursuits, and client relationship development.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills — confident working directly with partners.
- Proficiency in CRM and marketing systems such as Inter Action, Salesforce, or Foundation.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on delivery.
