Overview

The Trust has an international reputation and a tradition of innovation. Our excellence in research and development was recognised in December 2006 when it was announced that, in partnership with University College London (UCL), we would be one of the country's five comprehensive biomedical research centres. The Division of GI Services includes the medical and surgical specialities of hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB), colorectal, upper GI cancer, obesity, nutrition and vascular services.

The Division is responsible for a 50 bedded ward, Endoscopy Unit and a GI Physiology Unit. We perform around 600 endoscopy procedures per week. Our administration team are vital to the smooth running of these services. The Admin Co‑ordinator role is an exciting opportunity to join our administration team in the Endoscopy Unit which provides first‑class administration and reception services to the Division.

As part of our Patient Pathway team, you will be responsible for tracking patients through their care pathways, organising patient appointments and processing clinical correspondence in a timely manner. You will act as a key point of support to the Clinical Nurse Endoscopists through assisting with administrative tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Co-ordinating and taking responsibility for the patient pathways within their designated sub‑specialty areas.
  • Co-ordinating the day‑case admissions within the Endoscopy Unit.
  • Providing a primary point of contact between the multi‑disciplinary team and their colleagues, patients, and relatives.
  • Acting as a source of advice and support for troubleshooting non‑routine matters or resolving initial complaints.
  • Supporting the clinical and administrative teams to provide a positive patient experience.
  • Supporting and providing cross‑cover for all administrative areas across the Division when required so that all areas are sufficiently staffed to provide a consistently high level of patient satisfaction.
Qualifications

Successful candidates will have previous administration experience and either experience of working in an NHS organisation or a desire to work within a healthcare organisation. They will be able to communicate with a range of patients and colleagues and possess excellent team working, negotiation and organisation skills. Above all they will be committed to helping us deliver excellent patient care. We offer excellent development opportunities for administration staff both within the Division and across the organisation.
