- Conduct audit fieldwork for a wide variety of nonprofit clients, ensuring all work meets the highest standards of quality and compliance while receiving guidance from experienced colleagues.
- Draft clear and actionable recommendations for improvements to clients’ financial systems and internal controls, helping organisations strengthen their operations.
- Attend client meetings alongside senior team members to gain valuable insights into client needs and build strong professional relationships within the nonprofit sector.
- Assist in planning audits by reviewing prior year information, preparing lead schedules, and contributing to the overall audit strategy for each engagement.
- Prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards and legal requirements, ensuring transparency and reliability for clients.
- Draft corporation tax computations and provide support for tax‑related audit procedures as part of comprehensive client service delivery.
- Support the preparation of materials for audit close‑out meetings, including discussion points that facilitate constructive feedback and continuous improvement.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams such as technical specialists and tax departments to ensure seamless collaboration throughout the audit process.
- Help manage client expectations by maintaining open lines of communication and meeting deadlines across all stages of the audit cycle.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of International Standards on Auditing (ISA) requirements as well as internal policies when producing audit files.
- Currently studying towards the ICAEW ACA qualification with professional level papers started or completed, demonstrating commitment to advancing your career in accountancy.
- A minimum 2:1 degree in any discipline or progression onto ACA via alternative routes such as AAT Level 4, showing academic capability and adaptability.
- A minimum of one year’s experience in audit roles with exposure to nonprofit clients is essential for understanding sector‑specific challenges.
- Technical competence in core auditing principles to contribute meaningfully from day one.
- Excellent communication skills to build rapport with clients and colleagues while conveying complex information clearly.
