We are looking for a Part Time Accounts AssistantSUMMARY OF THE ROLE AND WORK
A junior role reporting into the Accounts Manager providing accounting and general office support duties with the potential to learn and support the responsibilities for the preparation of client payrolls. As the firm expands its legal, tax and consultancy work, as well as its client payroll offering to international and domestic clients, there is a need for additional accounting, payroll and administrative support.
This role would suit a reliable candidate who is interested in the tax or legal sectors, and is looking for an opportunity which offers the possibility of longer-term growth and development
MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB:
- Data Entry:
Inputting financial data into accounting software or spreadsheets. - Accounts Receivable:
Completing billing instructions, raising bills, processing credit notes, sending statements and credit control. - Accounts Payable:
Posting supplier invoices and staff expenses, coding to the nominal. - Assistance with monthly billing in the Accounts Manager’s absence.
- Month-end closing procedures
- General office admin support as needed
- Any other ad hoc duties as requested.
Preparation and processing of client payrolls (with initial support and training from the Account Manager and tax professionals within the firm)
Supervision and COVER responsibilities
Supervision of Role
Daily work to be managed and supervised by Accounts Manager.
Cover:
Accounts
After training, this role will serve as the primary backup for Accounts functions during the Accounts Manager’s absence. It may occasionally require providing cover outside of standard contracted hours. Any cover worked, outside normal contracted hours, will be paid.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE
- There are no formal qualification requirements for this role.
- Familiarity with working with spreadsheets, accounting systems, and document management systems, and ability to learn quickly.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Commitment to providing excellent service to internal and external clients.
- Previous experience of processing payrolls would be helpful however the ability, after training, to manage the preparation and process client payrolls is essential.
- Actively seeking to take responsibility in your own work.
- Pro-actively raising issues relating to your work and suggesting improvements.
