General Summary/Responsibilities
Independently performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media. Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture. Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the MRI scanner including MRI safe practices. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of duties to maintain equipment in good working condition.
May perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs. May have on call responsibilities.
- Perform MRI exams using appropriate techniques and protocols.
- Administer contrast media as per approved procedures.
- Coordinate patient flow and MRI scanner operations; ensure MRI safety practices.
- Maintain and troubleshoot MRI equipment; assist with on-call responsibilities as required.
- Collaborate with departmental staff and other imaging modalities as needed.

Medical Imaging Sciences to include additional MRI physics coursework or completed within 6 months of hire - Preferred educational qualifications: N/A

- ODH licensure preferred
- ARRT RT (R) or ARMRIT registry required

One year MRI experience preferred
- Cross-sectional anatomy
- American College of Radiology (ACR) MRI Safe Practice Guidelines
- Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Proficient in Radiology Information System (RIS) and Image Storage
- Knowledge of advanced MRI computer applications
