Position Title

Patient Care Coordinator – AEG Vision

Patient Care Coordinators are responsible for providing exceptional service by welcoming our patients and ensuring all check‑in and check‑out processes are completed.

• Acknowledge and greet patients, customers, and vendors as they walk into the practice, in a friendly and welcoming manner.
• Answer and respond to telephone inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
• Schedule appointments.
• Gather patients and insurance information.
• Verify and enter patient demographics into EMR ensuring all fields are complete.
• Verify vision and medical insurance information and enter EMR.
• Maintain a clear understanding of insurance plans and be able to communicate insurance information to patients.
• Pull schedules to ensure insurance eligibility prior to patient appointment and ensure files are complete.
• Prepare insurance claims and run reports to ensure all charges are billed and filed.
• Print and prepare forms for patients' visits.
• Collect and document all charges, co‑pays, and payments into EMR.
• Allocate balances to insurance as needed.
• Always maintain a clean workspace.
• Practice economy in the use of equipment and supplies.
• Perform other duties as needed and as assigned by manager.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Must be able to maintain patient and practice confidentiality.

• This position requires the ability to communicate and exchange information, utilize equipment necessary to perform the job, and move about the office.
