We are looking to hire a LPN/Medical Assistant at the Mercy One Centerville Clinic. In this role, you will aid providers by creating a timely patient flow, positive customer experience, and care for clinic patients. You will support patient and family needs, recognize and assess urgent/emergency needs, and initiate appropriate emergency procedures when necessary.
Responsibilities- Facilitate interdisciplinary communication; utilize health care team members in assessing patients and analyzing patient data.
- Assess learning needs of patients and significant others; give accurate and complete information to patient and family.
- Follow clinic procedure/protocol for managing the electronic medical record (e.g., test results, retrieval, filing, creation, repair, charging).
- Evaluate patient and family understanding of treatment plans and instructions.
- Assist with a variety of procedures, exams, and operation of diagnostic equipment as assigned.
- Maintain appropriate aseptic technique for preparation, procedures, and medication administration.
- Accurately and legibly document all patient interactions in the electronic medical record.
- Report results and pertinent information to patients and health care team members.
- Full Time, Days, 40 hours per week
- 7:00 am to 4:00 pm
- Possess a Current LPN license issued by the State of Iowa.
- Clinic/physician office experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
- Possess a Current/valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.
- Successfully completed Medication Aide 40‑hour course or current/valid Medication Aide certification by state agency required if applicable.
- Clinic/physician office experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
- Completion or active pursuit of a degree from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program.
- Completion or active pursuit of a degree from an accredited Medical Assistance program.
