New Graduate - Assistant Store Manager

We are looking to develop the next generation of retail leadership at Sprouts Farmers Market, a Fortune 500 company and one of the fastest growing retailers in the United States. This role is part of the Sprouts University Program, where you will build the skills necessary to become an Assistant Store Manager (ASM).

• Eligibility: within 6 months of graduation from a full‑time bachelor’s or master’s degree program (June class graduation requirement: December 2025 – May 2026)
• Onboarding: 10 weeks of in‑store leadership and department‑specific training followed by 10 weeks of on‑the‑job shadowing

The Assistant Store Manager must be familiar with all departments, assist the Store Manager in ensuring cleanliness, safety, and well‑stocked inventory, and support forecasts, scheduling, and labor monitoring. Key duties include:

• Directing, overseeing, and evaluating training of perishable department team members to reduce turnover and control labor costs
• Communicating with other departments to execute merchandising plans and meet financial objectives
• Ensuring compliance with product expiration checks, safety procedures, and OSHA requirements
• Handling emergencies, crises, and incident reporting
• Managing departmental staff – interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, appraisals, feedback, and termination

• Obtain or be in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree (targeting December 2025 – May 2026 graduates)
• Retail experience or project exposure to the retail industry
• Dependable, reliable, and able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with flexibility for store assignments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to give direction in a team environment
• Outgoing, friendly, positive attitude, engaging customer interactions
• Leadership to build, motivate, and maintain staff, with knowledge of personnel, margin, weekly sales, and financial goals
• Detail orientation, analytical and problem‑solving skills; coordination of sales promotion activities and merchandise displays
• Food safety certification and knowledge of federal, state, and company regulations (OSHA, sanitation)
• Organizational and planning skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
• Physical capability to lift up to 75 lbs., bend, reach, kneel, squat, and stand for long periods
