Job Overview

Vacancies for part‑time extended school year (ESY) job coaches within the Discover Program at the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU). The Discover Program offers a comprehensive work‑based learning approach related service that prepares high school students with disabilities to transition from school to adult life.

• Job coaches accompany students one‑on‑one or in small groups to community business partners to: teach soft skills and employment readiness; identify the student's interests and strengths; assist students in gaining confidence; develop work behaviors, problem‑solving skills, social skills, teamwork and independence; collect data on attributes shared with the student and IEP team for skill development and goal planning.
• Job coaches may meet students at the workplace or drive students in CCIU vans.
• Provide support to students newly referred by local school districts to the Discover Program.

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Experience with secondary students (required)
• Experience with autism/special needs population (required)
• Experience with data collection for special education (preferred)
• Willingness to work in several areas of Chester County
• Current MVR check required (conducted by CCIU upon hire)
• Current police, child abuse & FBI fingerprints clearance required
• Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and the federal government (conducted by CCIU upon hire)

Pay rates start at $23.69/hour and are based on direct experience taking students into the community and teaching job and life skills.
