Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled and strategic
Credit Managerto join our team in Phoenix, AZ and play a critical role in protecting the financial health of our company. This position is responsible for evaluating the financial status of current and prospective customers, managing credit approvals, and driving the collection of delinquent accounts. The Credit Manager will develop and enforce credit and collections policies, mitigate financial risk, and ensure company assets are recovered effectively.

In this role, you will oversee credit investigations and analysis, adjust or revoke customer credit lines as needed, and communicate credit‑related matters across internal teams and with external customers. You’ll be instrumental in identifying high‑risk accounts, preparing legal documentation when necessary, and maintaining key performance records on bad debt and collections.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional (5+ years) with a strong understanding of financial statements, credit risk, liens, bonds, and legal documentation—particularly in a commercial construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:The purpose of this position is to protect the company’s assets by investigating financial status of customers and potential customers, approve credit for customers and recover company assets by collecting delinquent accounts. The credit manager enforces policies and procedures for credit application and collection processes and adjusts or revokes credit lines for customers of the company. The credit manager oversees credit investigation and analysis and communicates all credit related issues to customers, managers, and other team members.
Duties:- Manage small team of credit analysts along with performing individual contributor duties.
- Develop processes and procedures for evaluating customer financial information to set and change credit lines, credit holds, and implement liens as necessary.
- Initiate customer contact to obtain payment information, request additional credit information, and to reconcile disputed transactions.
- Evaluate pending orders for credit limit and delinquency exceptions. Analyze delinquent accounts for potential risk.
- Identify accounts requiring legal action and coordinate actions with outside counsel.
- Maintain bad debt and collection performance records.
- Report status of receivables to management with recommendations and supporting analysis.
- Prepare and process lien waivers.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience - Five years of related experience
- Education – Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration strongly preferred
- Knowledge – Mechanic’s Liens and Bond Claims required
- Understands purpose of legal documentation and terms and conditions of sales in a commercial construction environment
- Software/Equipment Proficiency - MS Office Applications – Word, Excel, Outlook
- Internet research
- Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Must have excellent negotiation and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of financial statements and cash flow analysis, industry/market credit research, liens and bonds.
