About the Role
Disney Consumer Products (DCP) is the division of Disney Experiences that brings beloved brands and franchises into the daily lives of families and fans through products – from toys to t-shirts, apps, books, console games, and more – and experiences found around the world. This includes the Disney Store e-commerce platform, Disney Parks, local and international retailers, and Disney Store locations globally.
The business is home to world-class teams of product, licensing, and retail experts, artists and storytellers, and technologists who inspire imaginations worldwide.
The DCP Communications Intern will support multiple teams with a wide variety of communications and public affairs efforts. The intern will report to the Senior Manager, Executive Communications. This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in Orlando, Florida, from June 2026 through January 2027.
What You Will DoEvery day is different, but the responsibilities you can expect to fulfill are:
- Create and produce content for external and internal communications vehicles, including the company intranet site, blog posts, and more
- Develop and design graphics and digital content across a variety of mediums, including infographics, short-form videos, presentations, printed signage, and more
- Support planning and day-of needs for employee events, including content capturing, logistics, and more
- Assist in media monitoring and analysis to help provide strategic communication recommendations to Public Affairs executives
- Help provide vetting support and risk analysis for various DCP engagements with celebrities, brands, content creators, and others
- Assist the Business-to-Business team with updating the DCPs licensee portal
- Help develop and maintain an editorial calendar
- Assist with building media lists
- Support DCP's collaboration with Make-A-Wish through fulfillment of DCP products for wishes and support for events
- Assist with volunteer activities benefiting charities
- Research to support Corporate Social Responsibility activities
- An organized self-starter who is eager to assist in a wide range of projects
- Demonstrated knowledge and use of basic graphic/presentation design and video editing software
- Excellent attention to detail with project leadership experience
- Experience in Microsoft Office, Keynote, Adobe Creative Suite, Word Press, iOS operating system, and Smartsheet
- Event planning and execution experience
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Proficient in AP style
- Strong knowledge of Disney Intellectual Property, including movies and theme parks, television, and streaming services.
- Previous communications or related experience working for a large, global organization
- An ability to write for various platforms and a love of storytelling
- A solid understanding of pop culture, retail trends, and the entertainment industry
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Junior or Senior year preferred
- Pursuing a degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
